China to host FIVB Beach Volleyball U19 World Championships while the inaugural FIVB Volleyball U17 World Championships hosts will be named soon.
Age group World Championships in both volleyball and beach volleyball will be part of the 2024 FIVB competition calendar, providing opportunities for young athletes to compete on the international stage. The 2024 FIVB U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships will take place in China from 27 August to 1 September, while the inaugural editions of the FIVB Volleyball U17 World Championships for both genders will be held in August at venues that will be confirmed at a later stage.
2024 FIVB U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships
The 18th edition of the FIVB U19 Beach Volleyball World Championships will be organised in the ancient city of Shangluo in central China, where a 2,000-seat centre court and four side courts will welcome athletes and spectators from all over the world.
The event will take place from 27 August to 1 September. 32 teams per gender will join the main draw action in Shangluo. They will be split into eight round-robin pools of four for the first stage of the main draw tournament. The pool winners will advance directly to the round of 16, while the pool runners-up and the third-placed teams will enter the playoff bracket from the round of 24.
2024 FIVB U17 Volleyball World Championships
The inaugural editions of the FIVB Volleyball Girls’ and Boys’ U17 World Championships will take place in August 2024, with the hosts for these historic events to be confirmed at a later stage.
A total of 16 youth national teams will compete in each of the two newly-introduced biennial FIVB tournaments over seven competition days.
For the first stage of each U17 World Championship, the teams will be split into four single round-robin pools of four and their places in the final pool standings will determine their starting positions in the single elimination, consisting of round of 16, quarterfinals, semifinals and finals at each level of the playoff bracket.
