ST. KITTS & NEVIS, December 9, 2023. – The picturesque island of St. Kitts hosted the highly anticipated 2023 Congress of the East Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA). Organized by the Amateur Volleyball Association of San Cristobal, this Congress serves as a vital meeting for the East Caribbean volleyball community.
Under the coordination of President Glenn Quinlan, who also holds the positions of ECVA President and NORCECA Vice President, the event showcased a harmonious blend of collaboration and shared dedication to the sport. Distinguished guests, including NORCECA Confederation President Cristobal Marte Hoffiz, provided valuable insights into the regional volleyball scenery.
The elective Congress will feature crucial elections for key ECVA positions, with Glenn Quinlan as the current president, Vice President Sabinah Clement (BVI), Secretary General Shayne Felicien (LCA), Treasurer Wilbur Harrigan OBE, and member Elvin Henríquez (EUX). Their roles are fundamental in guiding the course of volleyball in the East Caribbean region.
Marking a significant return to in-person meetings since 2019, delegates engaged in discussions on the 2024 competition schedule, conducted comprehensive reviews of the activities carried out in 2022 and 2023, and expressed gratitude for the valuable contributions of member federations. The exchange of ideas underscored the collective commitment of East Caribbean nations to the growth and development of volleyball.
Representatives from Grenada, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Montserrat, Antigua and Barbuda, Saint Eustatius, Saba, Anguilla, Saint Martin, the British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, and the hosts, San Kitts and Nevis, gathered to foster unity and camaraderie.
The 2023 ECVA Congress celebrated past achievements while laying the groundwork for an exciting future for volleyball enthusiasts throughout the East Caribbean.
