SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, May 26, 2023.- With the support of the National Physical Education Institute and the North, Central American and Caribbean Volleyball Confederation NORCECA, the Level I Beach Volleyball International Course for Coaches and Physical Education professor concluded successfully.
Ten professors from the INEFI joined professors and coaches from Ecuador, Honduras, Costa Rica, Cuba, Italy and the Dominican Republic took part of the International Course.
FIVB instructor Mauro Hernandez of Spain conducted the course, he is one of the most respected instructors worldwide, who has taken part in Olympic Games, several World Tour stages, Pan American Games, Central American and Caribbean Games, among others.
The participants were subjected to a five-day working program that included theory and practice at the Volleyball Training facilities at Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center.
After handing out the certificates, Mauro Hernandez said “I am satisfied with the great level and knowledge of the participants, especially from the Dominican professors, who are ensuring a promising future for volleyball in at a school level throughout the country”.
Hernandez congratulated the National Physical Education Institute for joining the Regional Volleyball Development Center in Dominican Republic directed by Professor Nelson José Ramírez for his initiative, “I will take this idea to my country to start a program like this one, as one of the FIVB politics is to integrate schools to our sports’ programs”.
Professor Ramírez stated that NORCECA president Cristobal Marte is interested in schools to be part of the development of volleyball in the region.
Ramirez closed the ceremony thanking Alberto Rodríguez director of INEFI for his support, as well as that of the Dominican Olympic Committee and the Dominican Sports Ministry.
