SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 30, 2026. – Colombia’s Miguel Ángel Martínez was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the men’s volleyball tournament at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 after leading his country to its first-ever gold medal in the event.
Martínez also collected the Best Opposite award and finished as the tournament’s Best Scorer with 110 points, making him the most decorated player of the competition with three individual honors.
Guatemala placed two players on the tournament’s Dream Team with Adolfo Rivas earning Best Setter honors and José Pablo Pérez recognized as First Best Spiker.
Cuba had three award recipients. Alexis Wilson was selected as First Best Blocker, Miguel Ángel López was named Best Receiver, and Daniel Martínez earned the Best Server distinction.
The Dominican Republic was represented by Moisés Ortiz, who received the Second Best Blocker award, while Miguel Mieses was honored as both Best Libero and Best Digger after an outstanding all-around performance.
Puerto Rico’s Klistan Lawrence completed the Dream Team as the tournament’s Second Best Spiker.
