SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 6, 2026.– From July 12 to 16, the National Gymnasium in San José, Costa Rica, will host the third edition of the AFECAVOL Central American Men’s Final Four Championship.
The competition will bring together the top four teams from the 12th Central American Games: Costa Rica, champion of the event; Nicaragua, runner-up; Panama, bronze medalist; and Belize, fourth place.
The tournament will feature a new competition format. During the first three days, the four teams will play a round-robin stage. Then, on the final day, the third and fourth-placed teams in the standings will play for the bronze medal, while the top two teams will compete for the gold medal.
The AFECAVOL Central American Men’s Final Four Championship was created with the aim of guaranteeing annual international competition for the region’s senior national teams.
Nicaragua claimed the title in the inaugural edition, while Guatemala was crowned champion of the second edition, held last year in El Salvador.
