ORLEANS, France, June 22, 2023.- Cuba lost to Slovenia in four sets 1-3 (25-22, 15-25, 16-25, 19-25) on Thursday in Pool 4 of the Men’s Volleyball Nations League in Orleans, France.
Slovenia responded strongly after losing the first set, overpowering Cuba with 50-45 advantage in kills, a huge 10-2 in blocks and 5-4 margin in serves. Cuba handed out 32 points from unforced errors against 24.
Opposite hitter Jesus Herrera and outside hitter Marlon Yant led Cuba producing 13 points each. Tine Urnaut of Slovenia was the leading scorer of the match with 19 points.
Cuba is in fifteenth position with a 1-5 win-loss record.
On Friday Cuba faces the home team France.
