BASSETERRE, St. Kitts & Nevis, July 12, 2026. – Defending men’s champions Dominica kept their title defense alive by advancing to the semifinals of the ECVA U20 Beach Volleyball Championship. Antigua & Barbuda, host St. Kitts & Nevis, and St. Lucia also secured places in the men’s final four.
Dominica’s pair of Tahj and Caiston continued their dominant run in the men’s tournament. They opened the knockout stage with a 2-0 (21-5, 21-13) victory over the British Virgin Islands’ Miranda/Young in the Round of 12 before defeating St. Kitts & Nevis 1’s Williams/Rennix 2-0 (22-20, 21-18) in the quarterfinals. They will face Antigua & Barbuda’s Lugo/Freeland in one of Sunday’s semifinals.
Lugo and Freeland also looked strong, booking their semifinal berth with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-18) quarterfinal victory over the British Virgin Islands’ Wheatley/Fahie.
In the other semifinal, host St. Kitts & Nevis will be represented by Troy and Pencheon, who earned a convincing 2-0 (21-12, 21-16) win over St. Vincent & the Grenadines’ Frederick/Alexander. They will meet St. Lucia’s Emmanuel and Clarke, who advanced with a composed 2-0 (21-14, 21-13) victory against St. Kitts & Nevis 4’s Edwards/Levine.
On the women’s side, St. Kitts & Nevis, St. Lucia, and Bermuda advanced to the semifinals after an exciting day of quarterfinal action. The host nation placed two teams in the final four, joined by one pair each from St. Lucia and Bermuda.
St. Kitts & Nevis’ Alwani and Pinney secured their place with a 2-0 (21-18, 21-11) victory over Grenada’s Agard/George. Their compatriots Amritt and Browne also advanced in straight sets, defeating Antigua & Barbuda’s Burnette/Gibson 2-0 (21-14, 21-11) after opening the knockout stage with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-12) win over fellow St. Kitts & Nevis pair Woodley/Evelyn.
St. Lucia’s Abigail and Desir rallied from one set down to defeat EUX’s Gibbs/Pieternella 2-1 (16-21, 21-15, 15-8) and reach the semifinals. Bermuda’s Gazzard and Sousa claimed the remaining semifinal spot with a 2-0 (21-19, 21-15) victory over St. Vincent & the Grenadines’ Nayelli/Reanna.
The men’s and women’s semifinals will be held on Sunday as the ECVA U20 Beach Volleyball Championship reaches its decisive stage.
