SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 30, 2026. – The semifinal lineup of the women’s beach volleyball tournament at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026 was completed on Thursday, with host Dominican Republic, defending champion Puerto Rico, Mexico and Cuba advancing to the medal round following straight-set quarterfinal victories.
The semifinals will be played on Friday at the Malecón Deportivo. At 11:00 a.m., Dominican Republic’s Crismil Paniagua and Julibeth Payano will meet defending champions Allanis Navas and María González of Puerto Rico. At 12:00 p.m., Mexico’s Abril Flores and Susana Torres will face Cuba’s Maykelin Drik and Kailin Garrido.
The host duo of Paniagua and Payano secured the first semifinal berth with a 2-0 (21-14, 21-14) victory over Guatemala’s Paola Alvarado and Naomi Monney.
Defending champions Navas and González followed with a commanding 2-0 (21-8, 21-13) win over Venezuela’s Valeria Moreno and Darlin Rodríguez to remain on course to retain their title.
Mexico’s Flores and Torres also advanced in straight sets, defeating El Salvador’s Karla Tovar and Daniela Vigil 2-0 (21-12, 21-14).
Cuba completed the semifinal field as Maykelin Drik and Kailin Garrido swept Nicaragua’s Socorro López and Lolette Rodríguez 2-0 (21-12, 21-5).
In the classification matches for places five through eight, Venezuela’s Valeria Moreno/Darlin Rodríguez defeated Guatemala’s Alvarado/Monney 2-0 (21-11, 21-10), while Nicaragua’s López/Lolette overcame El Salvador’s Tovar/Vigil 2-1 (11-21, 21-17, 15-7).
Costa Rica’s Araya/Ramírez finished in ninth place after defeating Honduras’ Bruhier/Rivera 2-0 (21-8, 21-15), while the Belizeans Nelissa Ramírez/Clara Sabal placed eleventh after Bermuda withdrew due to injury.
