SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 26, 2026. – The race for the women’s beach volleyball quarterfinals began to take shape on Sunday as the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and Nicaragua remained unbeaten through two days of competition at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
In Pool A, Crismil Paniagua and Julibeth Payano of the Dominican Republic cruised past Belize’s Nelissa Ramírez and Clara Sabal 2-0 (21-11, 21-11) to remain unbeaten and stay atop the standings.
Defending champions María González and Allanis Navas of Puerto Rico continued their strong title defense in Pool B with a commanding 2-0 (21-4, 21-2) victory over Shajunee Gumbs and Jontelle Hensley of St. Kitts and Nevis, maintaining their perfect record.
Mexico’s Susana Torres and Abril Flores held on to first place in Pool C with a dominant 2-0 (21-5, 21-5) victory over Trinidad and Tobago’s Malika Davidson and Apphia Glasgow, improving to 2-0.
In Pool D, Nicaragua’s Socorro López and Lolette Rodríguez also stayed unbeaten after defeating Bermuda’s Nattalie Gazzard and Megan Hands 2-0 (21-15, 21-5).
Other results from Sunday’s action included El Salvador’s Karla Tovar and Daniela Vigil defeating Cayman Islands’ Luna Ebanks and Joanna Robinson 2-0 (21-14, 21-11) in Pool A. Cuba’s Maykelin Drik and Kailin Garrido earned a 2-0 (21-9, 21-8) victory over Martinique’s Karine Francois and Carole Herve in Pool B, while Honduras’ Reizel Bruhier and Shanna Rivera defeated Grenada’s Thornioa Mitchell and Renisha Stafford 2-0 (21-8, 21-13) in Pool C.
