SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, May 3, 2026. – El Salvador’s Fátima Rendón/Dévora Medina, along with Nicaragua’s Justin Dinarte/Matthew Kempf, claimed the top honors in the girl’s and boy’s divisions, respectively, at the III AFECAVOL Central American U-17 Beach Volleyball Championship.
Both pairs had flawless runs to the title in their respective categories. Notably, Rendón/Medina secured back-to-back championships without dropping a single set throughout the entire tournament.
ÁLBUM FINALES MASCULINA SUB-17
The Salvadoran duo defeated Guatemala’s Daniela Campos/Fátima Reina 2-0 (21-14, 21-10) in the final, successfully defending the title they had won in the 2024 edition held in Costa Rica.
“For us, it’s a back-to-back championship since we won in 2024, but this time was special because we were crowned at home,” said El Salvador’s Dévora Medina.
Rendón/Medina continue to build on their success, as they also earned a spot at the FIVB U-18 World Beach Volleyball Championship this year, along with a bronze medal at the qualifier held in the Dominican Republic.
For third place, Nicaragua’s Kimberly Silva/Abdi Narváez defeated Honduras’ Miley Rodríguez/Valeria Acosta 2-0 (21-18, 23-21).
In the boy’s division, Dinarte/Kempf were the standout winners, capturing the gold medal with an undefeated record.
The Nicaraguan pair defeated Guatemala’s Joseph Godoy/Josué Rodríguez 2-0 (21-19, 21-16) in the final.
Dinarte/Kempf also qualified for the U-18 Beach Volleyball World Championship, earning a bronze medal at the qualifier.
“Our goal was to win gold since we came well prepared, especially because we also competed in the World Championship qualifier where we won bronze. So, in this event, we had to show why we achieved that third place,” said Nicaragua’s Justin Dinarte.
For third place in the boy’s division, Honduras’ Osman García/Jonathan Ortega defeated El Salvador’s Abdiel Anzora/Mario Baires 2-0 (21-11, 21-12).
