SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica, July 16, 2026. – Nine of NORCECA’s top young women’s national teams will gather in Costa Rica for the 2026 NORCECA Girls’ U19 Continental Championship, to be held from July 19 to 24 at the Gimnasio Nacional in San José, where they will compete for the continental title.
The championship is the region’s pathway to the 2027 FIVB Girls’ U19 World Championship and a key stage in the development of the region’s most promising young athletes as they progress toward the senior national team level.
Defending champion United States, the most successful nation in tournament history with nine continental titles, will be aiming to capture its third consecutive championship. The Americans headline Pool A alongside Cuba and Dominican Republic.
Pool B features Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands, while host Costa Rica will compete in Pool C against Canada and Jamaica.
The two best-ranked pool winners will advance directly to the semifinals, while the third-ranked pool winner will move into the quarterfinals along with the three second-place finishers from each pool. The quarterfinal winners will complete the semifinal lineup, with the tournament concluding on July 24.
From the opening serve to the championship match, the tournament promises six days of exciting volleyball featuring the next generation of NORCECA stars.
