TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras, May 19, 2026.– The second edition of the Girls’ U17 Pan American Cup is set to take center stage in Tegucigalpa from May 24 to June 1 at the Gimnasio Jorge Galeano. The tournament will serve as a platform for emerging young volleyball talents at the continental level.
A total of nine teams will compete in the event, divided into three pools of three teams each. Pool A features Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and United States; Pool B includes host nation Honduras, Canada, and Peru; while Pool C is composed of Costa Rica, Mexico, and Venezuela.
Puerto Rico enters the competition as the defending champion, having captured gold at the inaugural edition held in Guatemala in 2024. Peru claimed the silver medal, while Venezuela secured bronze honors.
The competition format will see the top two best-ranked first-place teams from the preliminary round advance directly to the semifinals. The third-ranked pool winner will move into the quarterfinals, joining the three second-place teams from each group in the knockout stage.
With a blend of emerging talent and continental rivalry, the Girls’ U17 Pan American Cup promises great competition level and serves as an important platform for athlete development in the region, as teams continue their path toward future international competitions.
