Mexico’s Sofía Maldonado Named Most Valuable Player of the 2026 NORCECA Women’s Final Four

PONCE, Puerto Rico, June 7, 2026 – Mexico’s Sofía Maldonado, a key figure in the championship match, was selected as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2026 NORCECA Women’s Final Four, held from June 5 to 7 in Ponce, Puerto Rico.

The Women’s Final Four not only delivered excitement on the court but also highlighted an outstanding group of athletes who earned the tournament’s individual honors, recognizing their impact in every aspect of the game.

Mexico, Puerto Rico, Cuba, and Costa Rica were all represented among the award winners, reflecting the high level of competition displayed throughout the three days of action at the Salvador Dijols Coliseum.

Individual Awards at the NORCECA Women’s Final Four 2026

Alongside Sofía Maldonado, her teammate Uxue Guereca was recognized as Best Spiker, while Samantha Bricio received the award for Best Receiver.

Puerto Rico also made a strong showing in the awards ceremony. Decelise Champion took home Second Best Spiker and finished as the tournament’s Best Scorer, while Adriana Rodríguez was honored as Best Middle Blocker and Wilmarie Rivera stood out as Best Setter.

Cuba added three distinctions of its own with Jessica Aguilera (Second Best Middle Blocker), Yalain Regla de la Peña (Best Opposite), and Evilania Martínez (Best Server).

Costa Rica completed the list with a double recognition for Rashanny Solano, honored as Best Digger and Best Libero.

The distribution of awards across four countries reflects the competitive balance and rising level of women’s volleyball in the region, leaving fans eager for what’s next on the NORCECA calendar.
