Nicaragua hosts the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour

SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua, May 14, 2026.- The third stop of the 2026 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour is set to get underway in San Juan del Sur, which once again hosts a continental event after more than a decade.

The last time this venue hosted a high-level competition was in February 2015, with the AFECAVOL qualifier for the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. Eleven years later, the city regains prominence on the regional circuit with the participation of 12 countries, including one of the champions from the second stop held in Güibia, Dominican Republic.

Crismil Paniagua and Yari Cleto won that second stop; however, in Nicaragua, Paniagua will compete alongside Asmabeth Infante. Also competing are the silver medalists in Güibia, Canadians Darby Dunn and Alison McKay, as well as the bronze medalists, Mexico’s Susana Torres and Abril Flores.

Opening day will begin at 10:00 a.m., with a total of 32 matches scheduled across three courts. The opening ceremony is set for 6:00 p.m., with the presence of local authorities.

Women’s teams

Mexico will also field a second pair with Ana Sofía Juárez and Ana Sofía González. Nicaragua will be represented by Lolette Rodríguez/Socorro López and Norma Brenes/Yuliana Chávez.

El Salvador will compete with Karla Tovar/Daniela Vigil; Guatemala with Naomi Monney/Paola Alvarado; Honduras with Shanna Rivera/Reizel Bruhier; Costa Rica with Aliza Aguilar/Laura Molina; and Panama with Keisy Fuentes/Dayanis Ríos.

The United States presents two teams: Maria Belen Castillo/Kahlee York and Arika Johnson/Amarie Bremel. Cayman Islands will compete with Amanda Robinson/Joana Robinson, while U.S. Virgin Islands will be represented by D’Keisha Jordan/Brooklin Donovan.

Men’s teams

Mexico will compete with Miguel Sarabia/Jorman Osuna, while the United States will field Riley Owen/Austin Matautia. The Dominican Republic will have two pairs: Franklin Segura/Ramón de Jesús and Oscar Martínez/Hayerling de Jesús.

The host delegation will be led by Rubén Mora/Dany López, along with Jeferson Cascante/Denis López, Jesy Umaña/Josué Meneses, and Justin Barrios/Matthew Kempf. Panama will compete with Víctor Aráuz/Adamit del Cid.

Costa Rica will present Julián Araya/Stanley Grant; El Salvador the twin brothers Christopher and Yoel Guardado; Cayman Islands Jesario Ebanks/Lynee Dylan; Guatemala Edgar Maldonado/José Izaguirre; Canada Henry Heider/Brendan Lyons; Honduras Manuel Serrano/Irving Reyes; and U.S. Virgin Islands Eric Sommer/Gavin Kral.
