SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 19, 2026.- Nine teams will compete in the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup, scheduled for September 22–27 at the Palacio de los Deportes Carlos “El Famoso” Hernández in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The tournament will bring together Costa Rica, El Salvador, the United States, Guatemala, Grenada, Mexico, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago, divided into three pools of three teams each.
Pool A will feature Mexico, Costa Rica and Nicaragua; Pool B will include the United States, Dominican Republic and Trinidad and Tobago; and Pool C will consist of host El Salvador, Guatemala and Grenada.
The preliminary round will take place September 22–24. The two best pool winners will advance directly to the semifinals, while the second-place teams and the best third-place team will compete in the quarterfinals on September 25. The semifinals will be played on September 26, followed by the medal matches on Sunday, September 27.
Dominican Republic will arrive in San Salvador as the defending champion after claiming its first title in 2025, when the United States earned silver and Venezuela took bronze.
Cuba leads the tournament’s all-time medal standings with three titles, won in 2014, 2018 and 2023, along with one silver and one bronze medal. Mexico follows with two titles, claimed in 2021 and 2024, and two silver medals.
