MANAGUA, Nicaragua, August 30, 2026.– Six teams will compete in the 2026 NORCECA U23 Women’s Pan American Cup, scheduled for September 1-6 at the Polideportivo Alexis Argüello in Managua, Nicaragua.
Defending champion United States, Canada, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Mexico, and host Nicaragua will compete in the six-day tournament.
The United States enters the competition as defending champion after capturing the title in 2025 in León, Guanajuato, Mexico. In its first-ever appearance in the event, the U.S. went undefeated with a 5-0 record and defeated Canada 3-0 (25-16, 25-15, 25-19) in the championship match. Canada earned its first silver medal in the event, while Mexico finished with the bronze.
The six teams will compete in a single round-robin preliminary round from September 1-5. At the conclusion of the preliminary phase, teams will advance to the final classification matches on September 6 according to their positions in the standings. The fifth- and sixth-place teams will meet for fifth place, the third- and fourth-place teams will play for bronze, and the top two teams will face off for the title.
The tournament begins on Tuesday, September 1, with Dominican Republic facing Costa Rica at 3:00 p.m., followed by defending champion United States against Canada at 5:00 p.m. Host Nicaragua will close the opening day against Mexico at 7:00 p.m.
