Tealer Scoring Leads to MLV Weekly Award

April 14, 2026.- In a week that saw her step up as the leading scorer in both Indy Ignite matches, opposite Azhani Tealer has been selected the Major League Volleyball Player of the Week presented by Franklin Sports. She is the third Ignite player this season to earn weekly recognition.  

The efforts of the native of Grand Prairie, Texas helped Indy become the first team to clinch a spot in the 2026 MLV Championship – which will be not far from her hometown at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas. In the two matches combined, Tealer totaled 41 kills and hit at an even 50 percent (41-of-82) on 39.0 percent efficiency (32-of-82).

Against San Diego, she chipped in 21 digs and a block as the Ignite moved to 18-4 this season. Tealer was particularly effective in a sweep of Atlanta, when she registered a 55.8 percent kill percentage (19-of-34) and 47.1 percent efficiency (16-of-34).

Indy returns to action on Friday, April 17, traveling to Grand Rapids before returning home in a battle of the top two league squads when it hosts Dallas.  Fans interested in tickets to the match – or any match in Major League Volleyball – can purchase them via links at the MLV Tickets Central page on the league website.  Tickets for the 2026 MLV Championship are also on sale now via a link on the same page.
