The NORCECA U21 Men’s Continental Championship Returns After Six Years

NOGALES, Mexico, June 7, 2024. – The NORCECA U21 Men’s Continental Championship will be held at Carlos Hernández Carrera Gymnasium in Nogales, Sonora, Mexico from June 10 to 17, after six years of absence.

The last edition of the NORCECA U21 Men’s Continental Championship took place in 2018, and due to the problems caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, it could not be held every two years as it had been since its creation in 1998.

The city of Nogales, Sonora in Mexico will host the event, which is part of the qualification system for the FIVB U21 World Championship in 2025.

Cuba is the current champion of the category, having won the title six times. They are followed by the United States with three gold medals and Canada with two.

The 2024 edition will feature the participation of eight teams divided into two groups: Group A with Nicaragua, Mexico, Suriname, and the United States; and Group B consisting of Canada, Cuba, Guatemala, and Puerto Rico.

The preliminary meeting is scheduled for Monday, June 10, and pool-play begins on Tuesday, June 11.
