SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 25, 2026.- Trinidad and Tobago defeated Grenada 3-0 (25-18, 25-8, 25-22) in one hour and four minutes and will face Nicaragua on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the seventh-place match of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup.
Trinidad and Tobago controlled the match from the start and held the advantage in the main scoring categories. They led 37-24 in attacks, 9-6 in blocks and 6-1 in aces.
The first set was the most competitive of the three, but Trinidad and Tobago managed to build a lead and take it 25-18. Their dominance was much more pronounced in the second, as they quickly took control and held Grenada to just eight points, winning 25-8 for a 2-0 lead.
Grenada responded in the third set and kept the score closer. However, Trinidad and Tobago closed out the set 25-22 to complete the straight-set victory.
Jahreef Miguel of Trinidad and Tobago was the match’s leading scorer with 16 points. Janeiro Atherley added 13 points, including five blocks, while Michael Burkett finished with 11. For Grenada, Jamal Collins was the only player in double figures with 11 points.
