SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador, September 24, 2026.- The United States defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-15) to secure a direct berth to the semifinals of the Men’s U23 Pan American Cup.
The United States finished Pool B undefeated with a 2-0 record and now awaits its semifinal opponent. Trinidad and Tobago finished third in the pool and awaits its next opponent in the classification matches for positions 7-9.
The United States had a relatively comfortable match, taking early leads in each set and remaining in control for most of the contest. Head coach Nicolette Sanlin used an almost entirely different lineup from the one she fielded the previous day.
In the team statistics, the United States led Trinidad and Tobago 45-30 in attacks, 6-2 in blocks and 9-1 in aces. The United States committed 16 errors and Trinidad and Tobago 15.
Three U.S. players scored in double figures. Connor Oldani led the match with 17 points, including two blocks and two aces; Ryan Louis added 15 points and Austin Cottle finished with 10.
For Trinidad and Tobago, Jahreef Miguel was the leading scorer with 10 points.
