USA will play Korea for the Bronze Medal at Boys U19 World Championship

SAN JUAN, Argentina, August 10, 2023.- The U.S. Boys U19 National Team will play for the bronze medal on Friday at the FIVB U19 World Championship in Argentina after falling to France 3-0 (25-10, 25-17, 25-12) in the semifinals.

United States will play Korea for the bronze medal at 1 p.m. PT on Friday. Matches are being shown on the Volleyball World YouTube channel.

No matter where the U.S. Boys finish, it will be their best placement ever at the U19 World Championship.

On Thursday, France jumped on the lead right away in each set and never looked back.

The European side led the U.S. in kills (32-18), blocks (15-3) and aces (6-2). France also scored 22 points on U.S. errors while committing 16.

On the way to the ninth-place match, Brazil managed a 3-1 (24-26, 25-10, 25-16, 25-19) victory over Mexico, while Slovenia achieved a 3-1 (25-20, 25-6, 17-25, 25-17) win over Japan.

Colombia grabbed a tight 3-2 (21-25, 26-24, 17-25, 25-21, 15-10) win over Puerto Rico.

Costa Rica won 3-2 (25-21, 25-23, 20-25, 19-25, 15-12) over India and took 18th place.
