SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, July 29, 2026. – Venezuela, Mexico, Nicaragua and Cuba completed the preliminary round undefeated to claim first place in their respective pools and lead the men’s beach volleyball quarterfinal field at the 25th Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026.
Joining them in the knockout stage are second-place finishers Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Puerto Rico and El Salvador.
The quarterfinal matchups are set, with Pool A winner Venezuela facing Pool C runner-up Puerto Rico, Pool D winner Cuba taking on Pool B runner-up Costa Rica, Pool C winner Nicaragua meeting host Dominican Republic, the Pool A runner-up, and Pool B winner Mexico playing Pool D runner-up El Salvador.
Venezuela’s Esyenser Delgado and Oscar Kirchner wrapped up Pool A with a 2-0 (21-15, 21-13) victory over the Dominican Republic’s Hayerling De Jesús and Oscar Martínez to complete an unbeaten preliminary round and secure first place.
Mexico’s Carlos Ayala and Antonio Lares also finished unbeaten in Pool B after edging Costa Rica’s Julián Araya and Stanley Grant 2-1 (21-18, 19-21, 15-13).
Pool C was won by Nicaragua’s Jefferson Cascante and Rubén Mora, who remained undefeated by defeating Puerto Rico’s William and Daniel Rivera 2-0 (21-18, 21-15).
Cuba’s Damián Gómez and Eblis Veranes secured first place in Pool D with a 2-0 (21-17, 21-18) victory over El Salvador’s Rafael Vargas and Gabriel Vargas.
Other results from the final day of pool play saw Guatemala’s José Izaguirre and Edgar Maldonado defeat Grenada’s Darron Oxford and Jonell Phillip 2-0 (21-13, 21-16) in Pool A. Bermuda’s Benjamín Barnett and Connor Somerville defeated the U.S. Virgin Islands’ Cole Sommer and De-Andrae Taylor 2-0 (21-13, 21-10) in Pool B.
In Pool C, St. Kitts and Nevis’ Elkreen Morton and Zendai Richards closed their campaign with a 2-1 (21-17, 15-21, 15-5) victory over Honduras’ Jairo Gálvez and Irvin Reyes, while Belize’s Ernest Broaster and Francis Hauze wrapped up Pool D with a 2-0 (21-16, 21-14) win over Trinidad and Tobago’s Miguel Jahreef and Jerome Morrison.
