Bermuda Claims Women’s Title at 2026 ECVA U20 Beach Volleyball Championship

BASSETERRE, St. Kitts & Nevis, July 12, 2026. – Bermuda captured the women’s title at the 2026 ECVA U20 Beach Volleyball Championship after defeating host St. Kitts & Nevis in a thrilling three-set final, 2-1 (16-21, 21-11, 15-12), at Marriott Beach in St. Kitts & Nevis.

The three-day championship brought together the Eastern Caribbean’s top young beach volleyball talent, once again highlighting ECVA’s commitment to developing the sport and providing valuable international competition for the region’s emerging athletes.

Bermuda’s duo of Gazzard/Sousa rallied after dropping the opening set, responding with confident serving, disciplined defense, and consistent play to claim the gold medal.

Representing the host nation, Alwani/Pinney delighted the home crowd with an impressive tournament, earning the silver medal after advancing to the championship match with a series of strong performances that showcased the continued growth of St. Kitts & Nevis’ beach volleyball program.

The bronze medal went to Saint Lucia’s Abigail/Desir, who defeated St. Kitts & Nevis’ Amritt/Browne in straight sets, 2-0 (21-7, 21-18). Their performance further confirmed Saint Lucia’s emergence as one of the region’s strongest youth beach volleyball programs.

Following their victory, Sousa/Gazzard said: “We are very happy. It was a highly challenging competition, and we had to rely on each other throughout the entire match.”

The championship once again reflected the steady growth of youth beach volleyball in the Eastern Caribbean, with athletes from across the region gaining valuable international experience while competing for ECVA honors.
