PONCE, Puerto Rico, April 29, 2026. – The Women’s Superior Volleyball League (LVSF) has a new champion: Cangrejeras de Santurce, who on Wednesday night completed a four-match sweep over Leonas de Ponce, this time at the Juan Pachín Vicéns Auditorium.
All of the Cangrejeras’ victories came in straight sets.
Santurce closed out a dominant postseason: they led their quarterfinal group with a 3-1 record, advanced to the final after sweeping the Valencianas de Juncos 4-0 in the semifinals, and capped a perfect 20-0 regular season, with 11 wins in straight sets, six in four sets, and three in five.

The scores of the decisive match were 25-18, 25-22, and 25-21.
With a one-set lead, the Cangrejeras took control of the second set by pulling ahead 20-18 thanks to a double block by Helena Grozer and Kara McGhee against Jenselyn Morales.
Down the stretch, Santurce did not give up ground and reached set point at 24-21 after a net violation by setter Alanys Otero. The set ended 25-22 on a service error by Desiree Cruz, putting the match at 2-0.
In the final set, Santurce maintained control of the tempo. They went up 20-16 with an attack by Andrea Rangel from zone two, and later 23-20 with a triple block on Nataly García. Championship point came at 24-21 after a spike by Madison Kingdon from zone four, and on the next play the Cangrejeras sealed the title with another attack by Kingdon Rishel from the same zone.
The offense of the new champions was led by Andrea Rangel and Helena Grozer, both with 12 points, while Madison Kingdon added 10.
For Ponce, Claire Chaussee scored 16 points and Nataly García added 14.
Mexican player Andrea Rangel, who competes as a local player in the LVSF, was named Most Valuable Player of the Final Series.
In team statistics, Santurce led 41-37 in attacks, 11-5 in blocks, 76-70 in digs, and 17-15 in assists.
The Leonas held the edge 4-3 in aces and 31-28 in receptions.
