Girls U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup to be held in Puerto Rico

JUANA DIAZ, Puerto Rico, May 1, 2023.- The Girls’ U19 NORCECA Pan American Cup will be held in Juana Díaz, Puerto Rico from May 9-15 at the Dolores “Toyita” Martínez Coliseum.

Eight national teams will be taking part in the event, who all will be eligible to compete in 2024 at  the NORCECA continental championship, a qualifier to the FIVB age-group World Championship.

Teams have been divided into two pools, pool A consisting of reigning U19 Pan American champion United States, Costa Rica, Mexico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Host Puerto Rico, who finished fourth in last year’s edition, is accompanied in pool B by bronze medalist Dominican Republic, Canada and Honduras.

Members of the NORCECA control committee and teams will be arriving in Juana Diaz during the weekend, with the competition starting on Tuesday May 9th with the preliminary pool-play round.

Pool winners will advance directly into Saturday’s semifinals, second and third ranked will play in crossover quarterfinals one day before.
