SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 16, 2023.- The NORCECA Confederation is deeply saddened by the loss of Argentinean Referee Hernán Casamiquela who passed away in Brasilia, Brazil.
Hernán Casamiquela was currently in Brasilia fulfilling his referee duties at the Volleyball Nations League and passed away for natural causes.
Casamiquela had a remarkable career as a national and international referee, with a long trajectory at World Championships and Olympic Games; he was current director of the National Refereeing Secretariat in Argentina.
NORCECA extends its deepest condolences to the international refereeing family, the Argentinean Volleyball Federation, and his loved ones during this difficult time.
