SAN JUAN DEL SUR, Nicaragua, May 15, 2026. – An intense opening day of the men’s tournament, which included the opening ceremony and exciting rallies on the sand, marked the start of the third stop of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour. At the end of the day, seven duos remain undefeated with two wins each, leaving the outcome of the pool phase wide open.
In Pool A, Mexico’s Miguel Sarabia and Jorman Osuna lead with a perfect record after securing two victories. Meanwhile, Nicaragua’s Jefferson Cascante and Denis López, along with Guatemala’s Edgar Maldonado and José Izaguirre, hold a 1-1 record. The Cayman Islands duo of Jesario Ebanks and Lynee Dylan is still searching for its first win after two outings.
Pool B has two undefeated teams: USA’s Riley Owen and Austin Matautia, and Canada’s Henry Heider and Brendan Lyons, who defeated the teams from Nicaragua, Justin Barrios/Matthew Kempf, and Honduras, Manuel Serrano/Irving Reyes. The top spot in the pool will be decided on Saturday’s morning session.

In Pool C, Costa Rica’s Julián Araya and Stanley Grant, along with the Dominican Republic’s Oscar Martínez and Hayerling de Jesús, also posted two wins each, defeating Sommer/Gavin Kral of the U.S. Virgin Islands and Nicaragua’s Jesy Umaña/Josué Meneses. Both teams will meet on Saturday to determine the pool winner.
Pool D also features two undefeated duos: El Salvador’s Christopher and Yoel Guardado, and the host team of Rubén Mora and Dany López, who defeated teams from the Dominican Republic, Segura/Ramón de Jesús, and Panama, Víctor Aráuz/Adamit del Cid, to remain at the top.
The top two teams from each pool will advance to the quarterfinals. Final standings will be key in determining matchups, making a first place finish a significant advantage in the race for the podium.
Action resumes on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the decisive pool matches, followed by the quarterfinals that will determine the tournament’s semifinalists.
