In group D, the Ecuatorian couple, Dany León/Marcos Tenorio, gave the first surprise of the tournament by beating the Canadians Jake MacNeil/William Russell 2-0 (21-18, 22-20).
Meanwhile, the Argentines Nicolás Capogrosso/Tomás Capogrosso beat Daniel Dyner/Jhostin Varela, from Costa Rica, 2-0 (21-12, 21-11).
In group B, Hagen Smith/Logan Webber (USA) beat Ruddy Salvatierra/Luis Calvo (BOL) 2-0 (21-15, 21-15). Hans Hannibal/Nicolás Llambías (URU) defeated Andy Blanco/Luis García (PANAM) 2-0 (21-14, 21-13).
